About CNL

The Center for Nature and Leadership (CNL) is an international community and leadership incubator for women that blends traditional development with the principles and wisdom of nature. Led by a multigenerational network known as The Generative Council Collective, CNL focuses on catalyzing “nature-inspired” leadership and achieving personal wholeness.

The Role

We’re looking for an organized, tech-savvy communicator to serve as the connective tissue across CNL’s teams and the steady hand behind our outward-facing communications. You’ll coordinate our newsletter, keep our website and event calendar current, support program promotion and member follow-up, and help our board stay on top of its commitments.

This role is about coordination and communication, not content creation from scratch — our program team and guides own original program content. You’ll bring it all together: editing, organizing, scheduling, and making sure the right message reaches the right people at the right time.

What You’ll Do

Serve as a communication hub

  • Connect CNL’s teams and functions — Board, Programs, Newsletter, Membership, and Website — so information flows smoothly between them.
  • Support outreach to members and prospective members through the newsletter, social media, “who we are” materials, and event promotion.

Newsletter

  • Coordinate, edit, and send CNL’s newsletter. (You won’t write content from scratch, but may shape stories from transcripts and other source material.)
  • Maintain and update the mailing lists as members are added and removed.

Website

  • Keep the events calendar current and create registration pages for each event.
  • Make other updates as needed — such as blog and newsletter pages — in coordination with the webmaster.

Programs

  • Attend monthly Programs Team meetings, capture action items, and share them with the board.
  • Help build the annual events calendar and communicate it to the board and Newsletter team.
  • Promote programs through social media and email for both virtual and in-person events.

Membership & Outreach

  • Send follow-up communications after gatherings — thanking attendees, sharing resources, and inviting them to join our mailing list and become members (templates provided).
  • As time permits, create supportive social media posts between events that reflect our vision and grow our community of followers.

Board Support

  • Meet regularly with the Board Chair to report on activity across the other teams and functions.
  • Track board action items, flag what remains outstanding, and help bring discipline and follow-through to commitments.
  • Attend board meetings during the first few months to get a feel for CNL’s rhythm and priorities.

What We’re Looking For

  • Tech-savvy. Comfortable with WordPress, MailChimp, AI tools, social media platforms, and general database concepts — including the ability to schedule posts in advance.
  • A clear, effective communicator. Organized, detail-oriented, and reliable in follow-through.
  • Values-aligned. Compelled to environmental sustainability, social equity, and using your skills toward shaping a better world. You feel a genuine connection with nature and resonance with CNL’s mission.

Hours & Compensation

  • Rate: $35 per hour.
  • Hours: Approximately 12–15 hours per month (roughly $420–$525 monthly).
  • Term: Contract role October 2026 through March 2027, with potential to continue and grow as CNL does.
  • Reporting: You’ll report to the CNL Board Chair, with check-ins about twice a month.

Onboarding & Support

You won’t be thrown in the deep end. For your first month — and the first time through each new task — you’ll have a partner working alongside you. We’ll also pair you with a point person, walk you through our website and shared drive, and set priorities together each month so the work stays within scope. There may also be room to help shape a simple communication style guide as you get to know our voice.
